Bybit Card Review

The Bybit Card delivers genuinely strong cashback (2–10%) without requiring you to stake a volatile token — a real differentiator. But the tradeoffs are significant: only seven cryptos are supported for spending, conversion and FX fees stack up fast on non-EUR purchases, and availability across the EEA is uneven — some countries like France and Romania are technically available via Bybit EU but with feature restrictions that aren't clearly documented. It's a solid pick for existing Bybit users in supported countries who want an easy off-ramp. For everyone else, the limitations add up.

Pros

  • High cashback (2–10%) based on spending volume, not token staking — the best no-commitment rewards in the crypto card space.
  • Zero annual, monthly, and inactivity fees. Virtual card is free. Hard to beat on fixed costs.
  • Tight integration with Bybit ecosystem: spend directly from your Funding Account, no manual top-up step needed.
  • Full mobile wallet support (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay) with instant virtual card issuance.

Cons

  • Only 7 cryptos supported for card spending (BTC, ETH, XRP, USDT, USDC, TON, MNT). If you hold altcoins, you'll need to convert first.
  • Fees stack: 0.9% crypto conversion + 0.5% FX in EEA (up to 7% in some regions). Spending crypto abroad gets expensive fast.
  • Availability is a patchwork: some EEA countries firmly excluded, others (France, Romania) technically available but with unclear feature restrictions. Poor transparency from Bybit on exactly what works where.
  • Custodial model — your spending money sits on an exchange, not in a bank or self-custody wallet.

Bybit EU GmbH holds a MiCA CASP license from Austria's FMA, enabling EEA-wide passporting. In France, Bybit EU is on the AMF white list and authorized to provide crypto-asset services under free provision of services, though some card features remain restricted per AMF directives. The legacy bybit.com entity was previously blacklisted by the AMF (removed Feb 2025) — this is a separate entity from Bybit EU.

Geographic Availability

Available across most of the EEA via Bybit EU (bybit.eu), plus Norway, Switzerland, Australia, Argentina, Brazil, AIFC-eligible countries, parts of APAC, and Mexico. Croatia, Iceland, Ireland and Liechtenstein are firmly excluded. France and Romania are available via Bybit EU (MiCA passporting) but with some feature restrictions — Bybit's own documentation is inconsistent on what exactly is restricted. Legacy bybit.com EUR cards were migrated to Bybit EU in early 2026.

EEA (most countries)— Available via Bybit EU (bybit.eu). Firmly excluded: Croatia, Iceland, Ireland, Liechtenstein.
France— Available via Bybit EU under MiCA passporting (AMF white list). Standard payments and ATM withdrawals work. Some features restricted per AMF directives — notably the Card Referral Program. Bybit's documentation is contradictory: excluded from the referral program but not from the card application pages.
Romania— Similar to France: listed as an EEA country on Bybit EU but excluded from the Card Referral Program. Likely available with some feature restrictions, but Bybit doesn't clearly document which.
Norway— Explicitly supported for Bybit EU Card (including Virtual Card Lite). Not an EU member but covered via EEA.
Switzerland— Residents 18+ after KYC. Same tier structure as EEA.
Australia— Separate program with 1% FX fees and higher issuance costs.
Argentina— Higher FX fees (up to ~7%), ARS-linked thresholds.
Brazil— Includes QR Pay with specific FX and ATM rules.
AIFC (Kazakhstan)— USD-denominated card under AIFC jurisdiction.
Asia-Pacific (selected)— Tiered limits, availability varies by country.
Mexico— Dedicated program with same core fee model.
