Deblock Card Review

Deblock is the closest thing to a crypto-native Revolut we've tested: a French IBAN, Visa debit card, instant SEPA transfers and a non-custodial crypto wallet in a single app. The free tier is weak on cashback (0%) and crypto fees (1.99%), but the Premium (€10/month) and Native (NFT-gated) tiers unlock 0.49% or 0% crypto fees, up to 1% cashback, and Morpho-powered yield vaults. The limitation today is geographic — France only, with Germany and Ireland planned for 2026.

Pros

  • Full banking stack in one app: French IBAN, instant SEPA transfers, Visa debit card, multi-currency accounts (EUR, GBP, USD) and a non-custodial crypto wallet. No need to juggle separate bank and wallet apps.
  • Self-custody by default: private keys stay with you and can be exported. Deblock uses account abstraction — your wallet is on-chain but the UX feels like a neobank.
  • Native tier (NFT-gated): 0% crypto buy/sell/swap fees, unlimited FX exchange, up to 1% cashback, 10 virtual cards and unlimited one-off card numbers. Best economics in the lineup.
  • Morpho-powered yield vaults for USDC, EURC and ETH — earn on-chain yield from inside the app without touching a DeFi protocol directly.
  • One-off virtual card numbers for secure online purchases — a practical security feature most crypto cards lack.
  • Regulated: EMI license from ACPR (Banque de France) + MiCA CASP license from AMF. Funds are e-money, not crypto — IBAN deposits are safeguarded per French banking regulation.

Cons

  • France only as of March 2026. Germany and Ireland expansion announced but no firm launch date. Not available in the rest of Europe, UK or US.
  • Free tier is unattractive: 0% cashback, 1.99% crypto buy/sell fees, only 1 virtual card, and €100/month free ATM limit. You need Premium or Native to get real value.
  • Up to 1% cashback is low compared to competitors. Krak offers 1% at zero fees, MetaMask offers 1–3%, ether.fi offers up to 3%. Cashback is not Deblock's selling point.
  • Native tier requires holding a Deblock NFT — the price varies on secondary market and adds a speculative entry barrier. Not a clean subscription model.
  • Limited crypto asset list compared to exchanges. The card is designed for a few major assets (BTC, ETH, SOL, USDC, EURC) rather than 400+ like Krak.
  • $BLOCK token launching H1 2026 adds ecosystem complexity and potential token risk. Too early to evaluate its impact on card economics.
